Military Schools

In the schools of Guards (Arms, Corps), Icarus (Department of Engineering), Aviation Technical Non-Commissioned Officers, Air Force Non-Commissioned Officers, Army Non-Commissioned Officers, Corps Officers, Nursing Officers, the optical sharpness of each eye should be 10/10 with or without correction. In case of refractive error, then it should not exceed +/- 6 diopters in spherical equivalent.

In the schools of Naval Trials (Engineers), Permanent NCOs, the visual acuity in each eye, without correction, must be 1/10, while with correction 10/10. As long as there is myopia not exceeding -2.50sph, hyperopia at + 3.00sph and astigmatism at +/- 2 diopters. Candidates of the Naval Schools must not have undergone refractive surgery with radial keratotomy.

In the school of Icarus, in the department of Flying, the visual acuity in each eye, without correction, both for long and for short, should not be less than 10/10. Since, there is myopia not exceeding 0.25 diopters, hyperopia 1.75 diopters and astigmatism 0.75 diopters in each meridian. Also, if esophagus is observed, then it should not be bigger than 10 diopters, exophoria up to 5 diopters, overload up to 1 diopter and close convergence point not more than 70cm. All candidates are prohibited from having undergone any refractive surgery.

In the Greek Police Schools (Officers and Policemen), the visual acuity in each eye must be 10/10 either with or without correction. In case of refractive error, then it should not exceed 4.5 diopters in spherical equivalent and astigmatism 5 diopters.
